Simona Halep announced on social media on Monday evening that the ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency) requested the postponement of the hearing in her doping case (it was supposed to take place on May 28).
Simona Halep accused ITIA of hypocrisy – her trial was postponed for the third time
The ex-WTA leader believes that the ITIA has shown hypocrisy because it said it intended to communicate with her “sensitively, efficiently and in a timely manner”, while at the same time officially asking for the postponement of the hearing.
“Once again I am extremely shocked and disappointed by ITIA’s attitude. Although ITIA, through its spokesperson Nicole Sapsead, publicly stated three days ago that ITIA “remains committed to communicating with Mrs Halep in a responsive, efficient and timely manner”, at the same time those present there formally asked the Court to postpone my hearing . …for the third time.
ITIA says one thing in public and does another in private. I have repeatedly requested to be heard and ITIA has repeatedly tried to postpone the hearing.
When will it stop? I ask this question again. I have the right to a speedy trial. Such actions violate my rights.
Simon”, Halep said in the message.
Coach Patrik Muratoglu’s reaction quickly appeared in the comments section: “Double game politics. A game I’ve been playing since day one.”
