Pfizer weight loss drug works faster than Ozempic

The pills made by Pfizer are said to be just as effective for weight loss but work faster than the Ozempic formulation.

The Pfizer study included 411 adults with type 2 diabetes who received danuglipron twice daily and placebo. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, patients lost an average of about 10 pounds, or 4.60 pounds, in 16 weeks.

The results indicate that danuglipron may be as effective for weight loss as Ozempic. Pfizer may also have an advantage as an oral treatment option instead of an injection.

Medications can also help people manage type 2 diabetes because they stimulate the release of insulin from the pancreas, lowering blood sugar levels.

Analysts believe that the market for glp-1 drugs could reach $150 billion by 2031, moving closer to the current cancer drug market. Some believe these drugs could become as common as beta-blockers or statins.

More than 50% of the world’s population will be overweight or thick until 2035

In 2020, two-fifths of the world’s population is estimated to be either overweight or obese. According to the non-governmental organization World Obesity Federation, by 2035 this figure could increase by more than 50%, reaching 4 billion overweight or obese people. The fastest growing population does not live in the wealthy West, but in places like Egypt, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia.

Obesity causes many health problems, including diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure, and has been linked to strokes, gout, and various forms of cancer. Being overweight is also associated with an increased risk of dying from Covid-19.
