
Five men were detained on Saturday night in the Karditsa region for violation of the electoral law.
In particular, during a check in a car belonging to one of them, 197 identity cards, a passport, two photocopies of identity cards and a bag with 114 closed envelopes, each contained a candidate’s card and five bulletins “crossed” his name.
At the same time, a total of 6,060 euros was found in the two detainees.
The Karditsa Security Department, which is conducting the relevant preliminary investigation, withdrew all of the above, since the investigation revealed facts of appeals to voters in a gypsy village in order to vote for a candidate for deputy. against the amount of 20 euros.
According to EL.AS. in this case, three out of five perpetrators stated that they had professional and friendly relations with this candidate and that they went to give ballots, disagreeing, however, with the fact that they gave a sum of money.
Two of the five arrested confessed to the charges attributed to them, while the remaining three categorically denied them.
The District Attorney of Karditsa was informed about the incident.
