Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe – CFR Cluj 1-2, the ninth stage of the Super League playoffs

Prior to this match, CFR Cluj had only one win in the play-offs in eight matches, also against Sepsi.

Dan Petrescu’s men opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Claudio Petrila shot from the edge of the penalty area to the right of goalkeeper Began.

Sepsi equalized before the break after Alexandru Tudori capitalized on a flurry of Scuffet’s attacks in the 43rd minute to fire close to the net.

With captain Camora and defender Juri injured in the first half, CFR Cluj scored in the 48th minute thanks to Nana Boateng, but the goal was ruled out for offside by VAR.

The winning goal was scored near the end when goalkeeper Began failed to deal with Petrila’s shot in the 82nd minute, the ball found its way to Rangelo Dzang, who sent it into the net.

For the stage before the end of the season, CFR Cluj occupies the third step of the rating, having 42 points, five more than the University of Craiova, which will play on the field of Rapid.
