Sometime in the first quarter of next year, 1% of Chrome browser users will be transferred to the Privacy Sandbox, Google reports, citing news.ro.

Privacy Sandbox is a user profiling system that will replace third-party cookies and use interest categories that users can modify to see more relevant ads.

Google claims that the Privacy Sandbox will offer users a higher level of privacy than cookies, but not everyone agrees with the American giant, and there are many voices among experts who oppose it.

Although the transition to Privacy Sandbox is starting with only 1% of Chrome users, the process will continue quickly, and by the end of next year, all users will be using it.

Privacy Sandbox is already implemented in Chrome, experimentally, and can be activated manually and used by interested users and developers.

Chrome’s transition to a new system of user profiling is notable because the browser takes about two-thirds of the market and gives the American giant Google the opportunity to make changes it deems beneficial to its own interests.
