A Patriot missile battery damaged by a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian front has been repaired, the Pentagon said Thursday.
“The Patriot system was damaged, but has now been repaired and is fully operational again,” said Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, according to CNN.

Three US officials told CNN on Wednesday that damage to the Patriot air defense system following a Russian supersonic missile attack near Kyiv on Tuesday morning was minimal.
The system itself is still operational and the radar component, one of its most critical elements, was not damaged, officials said.
The U.S. sent inspectors to check the system on Tuesday after the Ukrainians told them the system appeared to be damaged, one of the officials said.
What two components of the Patriot battery were damaged
Two Patriot battery components were damaged in Tuesday’s Russian attack, but the system “was never disabled,” according to a US official familiar with the matter.
The Russian attack, which consisted of Kinjal hypersonic missiles, Caliber cruise missiles and other munitions, damaged the Patriot’s battery generator and some of the system’s electronics.
A complete Patriot battery has six main components: generators, radar, control station, antennas, launch station, and interceptor missiles. The components work together to launch a Patriot missile and successfully guide it to its target.
Ukraine said it shot down six Kinzhal missiles on Tuesday, but Russia denied this.
Ukraine said it shot down such a Russian missile for the first time in early May thanks to the powerful American Patriot anti-aircraft system delivered to Kyiv in April.
