The fire broke out early Wednesday morning in the basement of an apartment building in Egaleo on Via Andrea Miauli.

The fire department was immediately mobilized with nine firemen and three vehicles.

While extinguishing the fire, firefighters found an unconscious elderly woman who was taken to the hospital by an EKAV ambulance.

A little later, the death of an 82-year-old woman who died of intoxication was confirmed.

In addition, early in the morning in an abandoned building in the center of Athens on Acominatu Street, in the immediate vicinity of the building that caught fire on Tuesday at the intersection of Favierou and Psara streets, a fire broke out.

Firefighters, consisting of 20 people and five vehicles, arrived at the scene and rushed into battle to extinguish the fire in order to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings. As a precaution, neighboring houses were evacuated, and residents were very worried.

The fire was extinguished after a short time, but fire brigades continue to work on the spot.
