Ukrainian forces are expected to begin training in Grafenwohr, Germany, within the next two weeks, Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Pat Ryder said. The training program is expected to last several months, and the tanks will arrive in Ukraine in the fall.

The tanks currently arriving in Germany are specially designed for training Ukrainian teams, and the tanks that will later be sent to Ukraine will be repaired and prepared for shipment, Ryder said.

“Because we’re doing it in parallel, we’ll be able to get those tanks to them in the fall to get them to Ukraine by the end of the year,” Ryder said.
