USR President Katalin Drula says that after a year and a half of the mandate of Transport Minister Sorin Grindeanu, the Ploiesti – Brasov motorway project is blocked and the completion of the feasibility study is at the 5% stage, showing that not even the final route has been chosen.

“Sunday annoyance when you turn on the news: Grindeanu talks about the Ploiesti-Brasov motorway. I really wondered how he could handle the complete failure imposed on his mandate. I mean the reality that after a year and a half of his mandate, the design and implementation of the feasibility study is blocked at the 5% stage. Even the final route is not selected and only after the route is selected, the hard work begins. I also received a reply. almost comical factual nonsense: “the first phase of the project was 160 km (the reality is that the project is 110 km +/-2 km, depending on the version). highway, between Gimbav and Christian. It’s just that it’s 5 km long and has no connection to jam traffic in Val Prahov, it is located in a hollow on flat ground, near Brasov,” Drula wrote on Facebook on Sunday.

He told Sorin Grindean that it would be “more decent” to apologize for the fact that during his mandate “an important project for Romania was blocked for at least two years”.

“How is it, Sorin, I remember when you took office, you were upset that it took too much time to complete the feasibility study, you did it faster… How is it that there are 3 months left (term of the contract : September 2023) and the research should be ready and you don’t even have a chosen route? I mean, there isn’t even 10% of the action needed to get something ready for auction? Isn’t it decent to remain silent or apologize for what you don’t understand, and under you an important project for Romania was blocked for at least 2 years? Am I asking for too much?” Drula wrote.
