Israel reopened crossing points in the Gaza Strip on Sunday after a truce brokered with Palestinian Islamic Jihad by Egypt, dpa reported.
The Defense Ministry said the Erez crossing and the Kerem Shalom cargo crossing had reopened, releasing photos of trucks crossing the border on Sunday.
On Saturday, the ministry released surveillance footage showing mortar fire at the Erez checkpoint.
The reopening of border crossings is seen as a clear sign of easing tensions after days of fighting similar to the escalation between Israel and Islamic Jihad in August 2020.
The Egyptian-brokered ceasefire came into force at 22:00 local time (19:00 GMT) on Saturday. It was breached an hour later, but the attacks stopped early Sunday.
