Representing Croatia at Eurovision 2023, rock band Let 3, one of Liverpool’s most eccentric bands, performed “Mama SC”, an anti-war song and metaphor for the Russian Federation.

“Mom, I’m going to play / Mom, I’m going to war,” the Let 3 boys sang.

In one of the interviews, the band consisting of Damir Martynovych, Zoran Prodanovych, Ivan Boycic, Drazen Balyak and Matej Zek stated that the title of the song is a reference to the Russian letter Shcha.

The band members said the song mocks dictators for being “childish” and places particular emphasis on Vladimir Putin and his decision to invade Ukraine in 2022.

In the song “Mama SC”, the band mentions the tractor several times, which is supposed to symbolize the President of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenka.

He supported Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, allowing him to attack from Belarus, and gave Putin a tractor for his 70th birthday.

The Croats from Let 3 took the stage in bloodstained clothes and military uniforms, only to strip down afterwards.

The band took to the stage in military uniforms and started chanting before stripping down to their underwear and brandishing giant rockets.

The band is known for its obscene gestures during concerts.

The band gained a reputation for controversial and sometimes obscene concerts. In her homeland, she was fined after they were left with bare bottoms during the show.

Throughout their career, Let 3 have expressed their support for women’s and LGBT rights and opposed conservative politics.

Ukraine at Eurovision 2023

And the representative of Ukraine at Eurovision 2023 had a song about military actions taking place in the country where Russia invaded in 2022.

The Ukrainian band Tvorchi inspired the song Heart Of Steel by the blockade of Mariupol and the defense of the Azovstal steel mill.

The university town of Ternopil, the duo’s home town, was bombed by the Russians and hit by Russian rockets just as they took the stage.
