“The Romanian government had until April 30 to submit the REPowerEU chapter to the European Commission and say how it plans to invest €1.4 billion. With a complete lack of transparency and a quick transfer, the government sent an unofficial version of the chapter, asking for funding for projects that deviate from the party line, such as: inefficient investments in lakes located in PSD-PNL fiefdoms in Oltenia, or in irrigation canals from Braila to serve local clientele or investments of state-owned companies, including those that have been exempted from abusive environmental impacts. In response, the European Commission rejected these political proposals of the Government

RePowerEU”, says the press release of REPER, whose co-president is the MEP.

“The European Commission has approved only investments related to energy efficiency and which help households and businesses reduce their bills – that is exactly what we, together with the Reper party, presented as a solution. We asked for 1 billion for houses of Romanians and small entrepreneurs. Now that the Commission rejected the manipulations that the Government wanted to do with European money, maybe the coalition will finally decide to listen to us, those who know how to implement REPower, and think about Romanians as well,” he said. Pislar, who was also a co-speaker of REPowerEU.
