Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has called for the death penalty for crimes committed in an extremely brutal manner, following the death of a boy as a result of brutal violence, DPA news agency reported, citing Agerpres.

“What kind of world is this, where for torturing a child they put in prison for a shorter term than for fraud? That is why I am personally in favor of reinstating the death penalty for the most brutal criminals,” Mateusz Morawiecki wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

The conservative and nationalist politician has already spoken out in favor of the death penalty in a question-and-answer session with Facebook users earlier this year.

Moravetsky’s reaction after the death of an 8-year-old boy. “Only a monster can cause such suffering to a child”

Now Morawiecki remembered the crime that is currently shaking Poland. On Monday, eight-year-old boy Kamil from the city of CzÄ™stochowa died of serious injuries in the Katowice Children’s Hospital. He was hospitalized at the beginning of April at the insistence of his father.

Doctors found serious head, chest and leg injuries, as well as several broken bones. His stepfather is a suspect. He and the boy’s mother were detained.

According to Polish media reports, neither the school nor the childcare service, which contacted the family, could assess the boy’s danger.

“The punishment must be severe, deterrent and proportionate to the crime!” Moravetskyi wrote on Facebook.

Only a “monster” is capable of causing such suffering to a child, he added.
