The death of an infant in Arta is associated with pulmonary edema, as can be seen from the first signs of an autopsy.
The infant, who was left in the car at about 7 o’clock yesterday by a 37-year-old father, suffered from a feeling of choking, sweating, wheezing in the lungs, shortness of breath, coughing, difficulty breathing and hypoxia (low oxygen levels). As a result, the child developed pulmonary edema, which led to cardiac arrest due to hypoxemia, tachycardia and cyanosis.
Against the 37-year-old father, a criminal case was initiated for lethal exposure. He requested and received until Friday.
His lawyer, Dimitris Lambrakis, told reporters in his statements that the message sent by his client is that no one should be in this situation. In fact, he mentioned that both the father and the 27-year-old mother tried to commit suicide once they realized their child was dead.
Chronicle of tragedy
It all happened yesterday, Tuesday, when a 27-year-old guy left for work, and a 37-year-old DEDDIE employee took a 5.5-month-old girl to take her to kindergarten and continue her work.
However, the man never went to the station, he immediately went to work, locked the car and forgot the child inside, fastened in a child seat. He went on with his work, and by noon realized what had happened.
When he took the child to the hospital, doctors unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate him.
