With success and almost universal – according to the Ministry of Education – participation, diagnostic examinations were carried out (“Greek Pisa”) for their students 6th grade of elementary school and 3rd grade of secondary school in Modern Greek and mathematics.
Exams – despite the reaction of the educational federations and the strike declared by ADEDY, after the strike crisis IOC and OLME as illegal and offensive, took place today, Wednesday, for the second year in a row.
According to the Ministry of Education, 96.5% of the selected school units participated normally in this year’s diagnostic exams for the 2022-2023 academic year, of which 579 out of 600.
As the ministry has pointed out from time to time, “Greek PISA” aims to draw conclusions about the progress of curricula and the extent to which expected learning outcomes have been achieved, “with the aim of taking sound and reliable account of the knowledge, skills and abilities of students.”
“After studying and evaluating these findings, educational policy can be purposefully built, improving the learning process as a whole,” the Ministry of Education believes.
Finally, it is recalled that the results of the exams are anonymous and are not taken into account by teachers when assessing students’ progress in specific subjects.
