Dozens of demonstrators gathered at the gates of parliament on Wednesday morning for a protest organized by the AUR party. The protest was organized as a reaction to the draft law on “the organization of activities to prevent the separation of the child from the family”, proposed by the government, which will come from the ministry led by Gabriela Firea.

“Firea, withdraw the project now,” said George Simion, who is live streaming the protest on Facebook. “We are waiting for Cholaku to abolish the laws, then I think the world will be at least partially satisfied,” he added.

According to him, the protest is for the “termination of anti-people laws”.

According to the rationale of the draft law, it is about establishing “clear rules regarding the intervention of local state administration bodies in order to exercise powers related to the prevention of separation of a child from the family, in accordance with the maintenance of the child in the family.”

The bill creates a Children’s Observatory, through which all children who are at risk of divorce
