
Seven people died on Sunday in Brownsville, Texas, after a man drove his car into pedestrians and was arrested, local TV stations reported, Reuters reports.
The tragedy occurred at 08:30 local time on Sunday morning near the Ozanam Center, a center for migrants and the homeless, local media reported, citing Lt. Martin Sandoval of the Brownsville Police Department.
Among the dead are also migrants, Sandoval said in an interview with Fox News.
“We are investigating whether (the driver) was under the influence of alcohol or other substances at the time of the accident,” said a police official, who described the Ozanam center as a homeless shelter.
