Cristina Nyagu strongly attacks the referee after the expulsion of CSM Bucharest from the Champions League

Although needing a win by more than four goals to qualify, CSM Bucharest also suffered a 33-31 defeat at home to Esbjerg.

Several controversial refereeing decisions fueled tempers, particularly the sending offs of Emily Arntzen and Kryna Pintea, and Christina Nyagu believes the Tigresses deserved to win.

“I want to say that I have not faced such a theft since the last European Championship with Montenegro. If the referees think it should be done that way, fine, I don’t think so. Congratulations to Esbjerg, they are undoubtedly a good team, but today we deserved to win. 7 vs. 9 cannot be played in handball!

From the beginning of the match, it was judged in one direction, with results! They ended the match in the second half with all kinds of strange decisions, we didn’t foul, all the balls went back to Esbjerg, it all ended with two red cards, at least for Arntzen. It was considered in one direction. You can’t fight the system.

I had the same situation in a tour match, I didn’t get any regular game fouls. This is a thief in the face! We live with this theft on our ground and I say it’s a shame, we fought, we showed that we are a Final 4 team, but it’s hard 7 vs. 9, it’s hard to fight the system.” – said Christina Nyaguaccording to VSP.
