Russian troops are shelling the city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine with incendiary ammunition containing phosphorus, Ukrainian news agencies reported on Friday evening.

“Bahmut. Phosphorus ammunition. Pathetic bastards. The same situation was in Mariupol. When I can’t do anything else, I shoot phosphorus cartridges,” Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, wrote in Telegram, also publishing a video with pictures from Bakhmut.

At the same time, the press service of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that their units continue to defend the city, reports Ukrinform.

Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that during the day on Friday, they repelled more than 30 Russian attacks in three directions.
