Alka’s murder trial: “I didn’t think anyone would stab,” said the 22-year-old defendant.

With two more apologies, the 29th day of the trial for the brutal attack on him by fans continued and concluded in the hall of the Mixed Jury Court in Thessaloniki. Alki Campanu and his friends, in the Kharilau region, for which 12 people who have already been temporarily detained are accused.

Accepted the “baton” of apology 7th and 8th defendants (as stated in the indictment), who denied any physical contact with the deceased Alkis, expressing condolences to his family, apologizing for being at the scene of the crime.

“I am very sorry about what happened, I cannot imagine the pain of this family. I wish I could turn back time,” said the first of them, aged 22. He stated that the goal was “to go hunting, fight, get hit and nothing else.”

He emphasized that he did not have a weapon with him, given that “we were going to fight with our bare hands.” “I did not see any weapons, if I saw something, I would not go into battle,” he said.

“I hit Alka’s friend”

Describing what happened at the scene of the murder, the 22-year-old apologized for walking up when he saw some people “running and getting beaten up.”

“I reached the corner where 3-4 people and a child were lying. I saw the second defendant stab Alka’s friend in the leg. I was shocked. I didn’t think anyone would stab me with a knife,” he said.

As for his own involvement in the episode, he confessed to hitting his friend Alkis. “They dragged him from the front door onto the steps. He probably thought I was hitting him, he went to hit me and I caught him by punching him in the face,” he said.

As he pointed out, as he started to leave, he saw Alkis lying on the ground covered in a lot of blood. “I was shocked. I didn’t think I saw so much blood. I don’t know how many and what kind of people were on it. They had closed functions. I just wanted to leave. I panicked and started to leave,” he added.

“I didn’t get to the bottom of the fight”

Further, the 8th defendant, the passenger of the second of the three cars, appeared before the court. “This should not happen to either mother or father,” the 21-year-old initially stated, and after giving his version of the controversial incident, he indicated: “I went to help. In no way did I want what happened to happen. We didn’t get out of the car. We waited for them to ask what team they were from.”

After a few seconds, he apologized and got out of the car along with the rest of the passengers. “I had a bad view, I couldn’t see what was going on, I didn’t see any weapons. I saw them arguing that there was a fight. They were all dressed in black, I couldn’t tell who was who. I turned back, making my way between the first two cars. When I saw that they were arguing and voices were heard, I changed my mind and did not want to go. I say: “What are you going to do, for what reason?”

Back at the car, the 21-year-old asked the others what had happened. “They say it became thick that they saw blood. I got stress. Some time later, early in the morning, I learned about Alkis. My legs were cut off, I didn’t know what to do.”

The trial has been adjourned and will continue on Monday (8/5) with apologies from the rest of the defendants.
