Simona Halep complained about the delay in the review of her doping case (she has already been suspended for eight months), and Ilie Nestase talked about the situation of the former WTA leader.
Ili Nestase believes that ITIA has no evidence against Simona Halep
Nestase, who recalled his 2017 case (he was tried quickly after making racist remarks against Serena Williams), believes that the judges do not have enough evidence against the Romanian and is trying to make a decision that will not affect their image.
“I don’t think they have any evidence against her! If they had evidence, I think they would have convicted her very quickly and suspended her from work for a month, for five… And that’s it! How to do this? She trains thinking she’s going to play and they don’t even assess her situation.
This is very disgusting of them! I think that’s why they put it off so many times, I think they have no evidence. Shouldn’t she have been tried? When I had a case with Serena Williams (then I was quickly convicted, I don’t understand why the situation is being dragged out.
Ion Cyriac also said… If this continues, someone has to answer! It’s about the many tournaments she wasn’t allowed to play in, as well as the money and points she lost in the WTA ranking, which is very important” – Ilye Nestas for playtech.ro.
