The police of Chania arrested yesterday (3/5) a 22-year-old boy who is accused of raping a girl from Finland who was vacationing on the island.

In particular, according to information, a 20-year-old woman told the police that she met the alleged May Day criminal in a hotel where she works as an employee. They exchanged messages on social media and the next evening, Tuesday May 2, met at a hotel and headed to the beach.

According to the applicant, they talked at the scene until 13:30 at night, when the 22-year-old boy suddenly “rushed” at her and attacked her.

The young man was arrested and is expected to be handed over to the prosecutor’s office for further investigation.
