At a meeting on Thursday, the executive branch is expected to approve several projects to provide support to agriculture, tariffs for pre-university and higher education, as well as a draft law on the government’s ability to issue decrees.

The draft law defines the areas in which the Government will be able to issue orders during the parliamentary recess from July to August, namely: finance and economy; development, public works and administration; Internal affairs; Health; Transport and infrastructure; sport; culture; research; European investments and projects; Extension or change of certain terms provided by normative acts having the force of law.

By its decision, the Government will approve the tariffs for obtaining state pre-university education and higher state education for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The decisions will also approve two de minimis aid schemes for the application of the garlic production support program and, accordingly, for the application of the consumer potato production support program in 2023.

Thus, according to the proposed scheme, in 2023, to support garlic production, an amount of EUR 3,000/ha of garlic is established, the minimum acceptable area of ​​which is 0.3 ha. The calculation of the support is carried out in proportion to the surface from which the minimum amount of 3000 kg/ha is obtained,” the explanatory note says.

At the same time, an amount of EUR 200/ha was proposed to support the production of consumer potatoes, the minimum acceptable area being 0.3 ha. The calculation of support is carried out in proportion to the actually cultivated area of ​​consumer potatoes, from which a minimum amount of 15 t/ha of consumer potatoes was obtained.

The executive power will also approve the draft decision on the appointment, organization and functioning of the Competent Body for Regulated Civil Service in Romania.

Another decision will approve the payment of Romania’s voluntary financial contribution to the budget of the Regional Cooperation Council Secretariat for 2023.

At the government meeting, the technical and economic indicators of the investment goal aimed at the construction of an artificial ice rink in the municipality of Sfantu Gheorghe (Covasna county) will be approved. The total cost of the investment is 314,731,000 lei, and the completion date is 24 months.

The agenda of the executive meeting also includes a memorandum on the topic of creating the necessary facilities for launching funding lines for: small investments in the public infrastructure of small, city and municipal hospitals from Priority 2 – Rehabilitation, palliation and hospitalization services for chronic diseases adapted to the phenomenon of demographic aging of the population, impact of disability and disease profile; investment in new hospital infrastructure (district/district emergency hospitals and single specialty hospitals) from Priority 4 – Investment in new hospital infrastructure.

Another memorandum aims to study the position of the Hungarian side regarding the opening of a new border crossing point in the area of ​​Beba Veke (Romania) – Kilbekhaza (Hungary).
