
The largest festival dedicated to local creative industries, Romanian Design Week will take place this year from May 12 to 28 and will present one of the largest editions to the general public, turning Bucharest into the capital of Romania for two weeks. design In addition to the central exhibition at Piața Amzei, dedicated to established voices as well as new names on the local design and architecture scene, the festival also offers the widest program of satellite events of any edition to date.
In RDW Design GO! the festival activates and unites businesses and local creative initiatives from 4 districts and historical districts of Bucharest: Cotrocen, Dorobanti-Floreasca, Cartierul Creativ and Ioanid-Icoani.

Designer invites Anniversary showcase #deDizainăr, a quiet evening in a house with a garden near Cișmigiu Park, with a good mood, creative people and love for Romanian design. On this occasion, you will discover new products, as well as a selection of favorite items, on which you will receive an anniversary discount on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of #design.
In addition, as part of the conversation How I did it, a networking meeting and authentic stories with Romanian creators in the Dizainăr store, you can learn from Dizainăr guests how they managed to do what they love. With an approach that subtly combines lush nature with modern ceramics and vintage works of art and design, the contemporary living environment takes on surprising valences.

EDITING (Str. Icoanei no. 20)
Conceived as a living space, The EDIT at 20 Icoanei Street brings together a carefully selected selection of furniture, lighting and accessories created by 50 well-known European brands with an emphasis on Danish design. As part of RDW, as a satellite location of the festival, THE EDIT organizes several happenings: May 17-27 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., GUBI icons– an exhibition of iconic GUBI items based on the concept signed by architect Bohdan Ciokodeika, which bring meaning and character to the premises where design lovers live and meet, which will be varnished in the presence of a GUBI representative; A Kvadrat textile installation created in collaboration with a Romanian textile artist and an illustration exhibition signed by Romanian artists/graphics/illustrators.

APARTERRE, a concept store of luxury clothing brands near Grădina Icoanei, awaits its visitors with a series of unique events:

SSAB is an innovator in the field of interior design in Romania, representing a success story created with professionalism for 27 years. This is the story of a family business with full Romanian capital that decided to promote innovation, quality and aesthetics. From May 15 to 26, you can visit the exhibition Design Gallery of Attila Kim and Bohdan Ciokodeika, exhibition of Fritz Hansendedicated to the Scandinavian brand of interior design, founded in Copenhagen in 1872 – Fritz Hansen.
AlbAlb (Str. Lt. Av. Șerban Petrescu no. 1)
AlbAlb is a boutique store dedicated to Romanian artists. An interwar villa in the Dorobanti area has been transformed into a space where objects, from jewelery to ceramics, textiles, leather goods and art, await discovery and tell their story. AlbAlb and YKO-YKO invite you on May 18 from 16:00 to 20:00 at St.Sustainable design and innovation with YKO-YKO and AlbAlb, an event dedicated to sustainable design and fashion innovation. A relaxed day with quality Romanian design as well as sustainable products from international brands – circular design, recycled products, textile innovations, vegan alternatives.
Albini Prassa (Str. Blegrad no. 10-12)
On May 18, from 17:00, the Albini Prasa luxury watch concept store awaits visitors with an exhibition. Connecting the watch business – past and future. The first exhibition of the largest collection of Art Deco watches, curated by two Romanian collectors, will present the public with an unforgettable experience that celebrates the beauty and innovation of watchmaking past and present. The exhibition concept brings together architecture, design and watches with a 100-year leap in time, combining the first and most dynamic watchmaking trend of the 1920s with the vision and talent of Xavier Dietlin’s unique and playful technology.
Kotrochen district
Kotrochen bazaar
Like London’s Portobello, Kotrochen bazaarit is a unique event in Romania, thanks to the involvement and direct participation of the community of Cotroceni, which is part of the cultural heritage of the city and is considered the most beautiful district of Bucharest.
The Bazaar map includes more than 160 private yards and small local businesses that, on the weekend of May 27-28, open their doors and organize various events in their own space. It’s an outdoor event, so it’s an opportunity for Bucharest residents to walk around the neighborhood and discover the city’s “hidden gems”. In addition to yard sales in the yards, the community prepares master classes, concerts in the yards, classical music concerts in historic houses, tours, and an architectural lottery.
