On Tuesday, the Port Authority of Gifio issued an alert due to the half-flooding of a German-flagged ship without board, moored at the Karavostasiu Oitilu wharf, west of East Mani.

The Local Contingency Plan and Pollution Response Plan were immediately implemented and officials from the appropriate Port Authority arrived at the scene with a Coast Guard patrol car, where the vessel in question was found in a semi-submerged state, possibly due to its impact on the quay due to due to adverse weather conditions.
