The US is reportedly set to announce a new $300 million military aid package for Ukraine, and it will include short-range air-launched missiles for the first time, Sky News reports.

Hydra-70 missiles can be used on airplanes and helicopters.

The Hydra-70 missile is used by air-to-ground systems. It can be equipped with a variety of warheads, and the latest versions of the missile have guidance systems for point attacks, according to the Romanian Ministry of Defense.

Hydra-70 missiles are in service on most helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, including: Apache, Cobra and F-16.

According to the Council on International Relations, the United States has so far sent almost $80 billion in aid to Ukraine.
