Low atmospheric pressure in the Ionian Sea will affect our country on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, with rain, storms and strong or stormy southerly winds in Western Greece. Despite the predominance of southerly winds, the air temperature will remain approximately 3-4°C below seasonal values.

In more detail, early afternoon phenomena will be limited, with localized rainfall in Western Greece and Pel Island, and localized storms in the Ionian Sea. From the afternoon and especially in the evening hours of Tuesday 2/5, according to the latest forecast data from the National Observatory of Athens/meteo.gr, the weather is expected to worsen with severe local storms in the Ionian Islands, Western Greece and Pel/island and precipitation over most of the territory Thessaly, Central Greece and Macedonia. The southernmost regions will also experience mud showers due to the presence of dust from Africa.
