ChFR Cluj lost 3:1 on the field of “Rapid”, and the title champion has less and less chances to win a new title. At the end of the game in Giulesti, coach Dan Petrescu criticized his players.

Defense of the CFR Cluj team against ridiculous tricks in the match with Rapid

Dan Petrescu was unable to rely on Camor and Bourque in the Super League play-off round six tie and believes those who replaced them are to blame for Monday night’s result.

The coach also says that Rapid’s penalty was too easy.

“We are very angry, we started the match with 0-2, with an easy penalty awarded, as a rule, for the third time. The second goal, a shot from a distance, then there was only one team on the field. I scored a goal, had rare moments. I didn’t understand how it could be 3-1 at half-time when we were the only ones playing!

The defense was ridiculous in the first half. To score three goals from three attacks seems like something to me… You see the absence of three (Nee Camorra, Bourke and Deak), I knew it would be like that. Plus attacking players who were given away. I made changes simply because I had to make changes.

I didn’t lose Dugandzich, I didn’t give him away, something else was needed. I didn’t want to go.

I’m happy with (Alin) Fick’s performance, he played great, I think he was our best player. To be honest, I didn’t expect him to play so well. He looked good in training, but a match is a match. This is a victory for the club, this is our biggest victory.

Yeboa morally finished with “Slavia”. He was actually signed and the injury made him not what he used to be. He is a child, he is 19 years old, it is normal that he suffers. Physically he looks good, but mentally not.

We are in third place, this is a reality. Those in the first two places have a better chance, but I will not give up. I will not give up, I will try. If the players give in, that’s another matter, but I’m not going. I will stay up at night to find a solution. It seems to me that the penalty was awarded too lightly,” Dan Petrescu quotes DigiSport.

Dugandzic (‘9 penalty, ’45+2) and Kite (’12) scored for the hosts, while Brown (’15) scored for the guests.
