FBI Director Christopher Wray is asking Congress for more money, citing China’s cybersecurity threat.
During hearings in the US Congress, the head of the FBI said that the agency he heads is greatly outnumbered, and there are 50 times more hackers in China, News.ro reports.
He said that China’s hacking program is so extensive that there are fewer hackers in all major countries combined than those working in China.
Russia, Iran, and North Korea are also threats to US cyber security, but nothing compares to China.
Currently, according to the head of the FBI, the American agency is analyzing more than 100 versions of ransomware, each of which has already caused a large number of victims.
The FBI is trying to convince Congress to increase its budget by about $63 million and hire 192 people for its cybersecurity division.
