The athlete, who passed compatriot Anastasia Potapova in the 3rd round, also defeated the eighth favorite of Madrid Daria Kasatkina.
It took Kudermetova almost 3 hours to get past Kasatkina at the end of the 3-set match.
The first set was a battle, with Kasatkina coming back from 4-1 down and 5-2 in favor of Kudermetova. Regardless, Veronica finished the action 1 7-5.
