A drug dealer failed to appreciate the services of an Uber Eats courier in Australia after the latter decided to take a suspicious package to the police instead of the destination suggested by a person who decided to sell psychoactive substances in a very unconventional way, reports Business Insider.
An Uber delivery driver got one star from a drug dealer who was furious after he took a suspicious package to a police station that turned out to be a tube of toothpaste containing methamphetamine.
The tube of methamphetamine toothpaste that earned the courier the worst rating on Uber
The tube contained two grams of methamphetamine.
Jess, whose last name has not been released by the Sydney Morning Herald, said she was disappointed with Uber’s handling of the situation because the company failed to appreciate the failure to deliver the package.
Jess works as a full-time teacher but decided to join Uber Eats last month to try and cope with the rising cost of living. She told the Herald on April 22 that she took the order from the restaurant in a plastic bag.
She immediately thought it looked suspicious, so she asked what was in it. “Toothpaste,” the person told him, according to the report.
Jess decided to cancel the $16 order and took the package to the police station. On the way, the drug dealer called her and verbally abused her, the Herald reported.
A New South Wales Police spokesman told the newspaper that officers found a tube of toothpaste inside the package, which they believe contained two grams of methamphetamine.
Jess said she tried calling Uber Eats but didn’t get an answer, so she reported the incident online.
A week later, the drug dealer was still on the app, rated one star, and not even paid for shipping.
It was only after the Sydney Morning Herald contacted Uber that Jess received an apology and said that “appropriate internal action has been taken” against the drug dealer. They gave him money and removed the “evil” rating.
Jess said she stopped delivering for Uber because she was frustrated with the way she was treated.
