“Thank you Congress for the trust! We continue the work started many years ago. Together we will be able to make our community successful!” Kelemen Gunor wrote on Facebook after being re-elected as the president of UDMR.

He scored 653 votes in favor on the second day of the Congress. Six votes “against” were also recorded.

Kelemen Hunor was the only candidate for the post of head of the UDMR.

He has been the head of the Union since 2011, thus elected for the fourth term.

On Saturday, he presented his political report, and a few hours later gave his candidate’s speech.

At the age of 55, Kelemen Hunor is a graduate of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Cluj University of Agricultural Sciences and the Faculty of Philosophy of Babes-Bolyai University.

Since 2000, he has held several parliamentary mandates. From 2009 to 2012, he was Minister of Culture, a position he also held in 2014, when he was also Deputy Prime Minister.
