After the large-scale invasion, some countries promised help to Ukraine, but did not provide it in time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Scandinavian media, reports Independent Kyiv.
In an interview published on April 29, Zelenskyi emphasized the importance of doing everything on time and being able to count on the promised help. However, some countries that promised help let Ukraine down, he added.
In an interview with Scandinavian journalists in Kyiv, Zelenskyi said that this is not the case in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
The President once again confirmed that Ukraine is fighting to ensure that European and NATO countries are never threatened by Russian aggression.
Zelenskyy made these statements against the background of Ukraine’s preparations for a counteroffensive, and Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov emphasized that preparations for the long-awaited counteroffensive against Russian troops are largely complete.
“As soon as there is the will of God, the weather and the command’s decision, we will do it,” Reznikov said at an online briefing.
Jens Stoltenberg says that Ukraine has everything necessary for an offensive
According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the alliance has already delivered 98 percent of the vehicles its members previously promised. These are tanks, combat and auxiliary vehicles.
At the same time, Stoltenberg said on Thursday that Ukraine has the necessary military capabilities to restore its territory.
Stoltenberg recalled the surprise visit he made last week to Kyiv, repeating on Thursday that the message of the North Atlantic Alliance to Ukraine is clear: he will be with her “as long as it takes.”
“We must stay the course and continue to provide Ukraine with what it needs to win,” he emphasized.
The head of NATO noted that Kyiv’s Western partners have supplied Ukraine with more than 1,550 units of armored vehicles, 230 tanks and other equipment, including “a large amount of ammunition.”
