The BfV therefore considers the AfD youth organization to be “extremist”, clearly xenophobic and likely to adopt “peaceful behaviour” towards people perceived as foreigners, the office said in a statement.

Also, two more organizations – “EinPercent eV” and “Institute of State Policy” – associated with the extremist movement of the “new right” have been placed under close supervision.

“There is no doubt that these three groups are pursuing unconstitutional goals,” BfV director Thomas Haldenwang charged in a statement.

He accuses the three organizations of “inciting public discontent”.

This rating provides the authorities with important means of surveillance and control, including private communications.

“Actors of the so-called “new right” (…) are trying to present a so-called more educated and modern face. But the inhuman ideologies in her hands are obvious,” condemned the Minister of the Interior of Germany, Nancy Faser.

In early 2021, the BfV placed the entire AfD party under police surveillance, accusing the formation of undermining the democratic order.
