Most of the damage was caused by the destruction of agricultural machinery, which, according to the Kyiv School of Economics, amounted to more than 4.65 billion dollars.

The Kyiv School of Economics also estimated that 109,600 agricultural machines were damaged or destroyed during the war.

Another cause of loss in the agricultural industry is product destruction and theft, with losses estimated at $1.87 billion.

Agricultural infrastructure, primarily granaries and other storage facilities, also suffered huge losses. The Kyiv School of Economics estimates the restoration of these objects at 1.33 billion dollars.

Vladimir Putin’s invasion caused the greatest damage to the agricultural sector in Luhansk, Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions, where the most intense fighting took place.
