In the morning, there was a fatal traffic accident when two cars collided on the Egnatia road of the city of Alexandroupoli-Komotini, one of which was carrying illegal immigrants.

According to the police, it all started when a foreign driver of a vehicle transporting immigrants did not comply with a stop signal given to him in the village of Makri by the traffic police of Alexandroupolis.

Trying to get out of control, he rammed a patrol car, after which he continued on his way, developing speed and driving dangerously.

Subsequently, it was discovered that the vehicle had driven onto the Egnatia Alexandroupolis-Komotini road in the opposite direction at the height of the Komaros area and collided head-on with another vehicle. a car driven by a 46-year-old man.

The intervention of the fire service was required to extract the dead and wounded.

The wounded were taken to the Alexandroupolis hospital. A preliminary investigation into the circumstances of the accident is being conducted by the Alexandroupolis Security Sub-Department.
