“The Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence at Sports Venues has conducted an investigation into an abandoned house in the Eastern Thessaloniki area.
Swords, scythes, knives, clubs, sticks, fireworks, flares and various items capable of inflicting bodily harm were found and seized.
Police officers of the Sub-Department for Combating Violence at Sports Facilities, based on information, yesterday at noon (04/13/2023) conducted a search in an abandoned house and its plot, the fence of which is adjacent to the courtyard of the city sports complex. association’s fan club branch.
During the course of the investigation, the following were discovered and seized:
- Trunk of a service motorcycle, stolen in the previous days, with motorcycle service book and license plate,
- A pair of ICHE license plates of a car that was stolen,
- Axes of different sizes,
- wooden bats,
- metal and plastic rods,
- Smoke bombs, firecrackers and flares,
- Fireworks,
- rocket launchers,
- sea lights,
- Sword,
- Sickle,
- cullet,
- folding bar,
- precision scales,
- Knives of different sizes.
A criminal case has been initiated against unknown persons for violating the law on violent crimes on the occasion of holding sporting events, violating the law on weapons and fireworks, as well as on the reception and disposal of criminal funds. A competent team from the Criminal Investigation Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece was called to the scene to inspect (fingerprint) and photograph the area.
Subsequently, a lawful search was carried out in the branch of the fan club, in the presence of a representative of the Judiciary and its leader, who has a legal license to operate, where a flag, shirts, scarves, hats, etc. were found. with the identification marks of other teams in the city was not found.
