Traffic has increased since yesterday in the port of Piraeus. Typical is the fact that 2,400 passengers and 367 vehicles proceeded on the 06:50 Blue Star Delos – Paros-Naxos-Santorini route.
An estimated 37,094 passengers and 5,921 vehicles will travel to the Aegean islands from today until Easter Sunday.
It is noted that from last Thursday (04.07) until Holy Wednesday, 117,561 passengers departed from the three major ports of Attica. Specifically:
- 69,762 passengers and 12,401 cars sailed from Piraeus to the Cyclades, Dodecanese, Crete and the islands of the North Aegean Sea on 82 routes.
- 23,766 passengers and 2,885 vehicles traveled from Piraeus to the Argosaronic Islands on 133 routes.
- 5,388 passengers and 1,611 vehicles left Lavrio on 29 routes.
- There were 45 routes from Rafina with 18,645 passengers and 4,899 cars.
More than 100,000 cars left Attica
Traffic is also carried out on foot to exit the long road, since from today there is a ban on the movement of all trucks on the national roads of the country.
A total of 108,301 vehicles left Attica from 6 am on Holy Monday to 6 am on Holy Wednesday, according to the Attica Traffic Authority.
In particular, on Maundy Monday, 26,842 cars passed through the Athens-Corinth exit, and on Maundy Tuesday – 29,110. On the same days of last year, 23,021 and 26,831 cars, respectively, went missing.
25,389 vehicles passed from the Athens-Lamia exit on Maundy Monday and 26,960 vehicles on Maundy Tuesday. During the same days last year, 23,4222 and 25,219 cars left respectively.
It is recalled that from April 7, the Greek police introduced increased traffic measures on the entire road network of the country, in order to ensure the safe movement of citizens and the prevention and prevention of traffic accidents.
