A “victim” of Florida conservatism. USA one fell illustrated edition from her diary Anne Frank. A few days after the hype that erupted around the world after the parents of local students described the statue of David as “pornographic”, the library school in the seaside town of Vero Beach, a book was taken off the shelf “The Diary of Anne Frank: A Graphic Adaptation”.

OUR book ban, which is also published in Greek by Pataki Publications, was made at the request of the well-known American conservative organization Moms for Freedom, which sent at least 50 such requests for the recall of books in two years that contain references to minorities and the LGBTI community, e.g. “All boys are not blue”. What allegedly “disrupted” the organization in the Anne Frank picture book is the suspicion of sexual content, in some frames the heroine of the book walks in the park with her friend and invites them to take off their tops. Moms for Freedom said the footage belittled her importance. Holocaust. Ironically, the diary was adapted into a graphic novel by David Polonsky and Ari Follman, whose parents were Holocaust survivors.
