According to the cited source, the restrictions on the Cernavoda bridge on the A2 Bucharest – Constanta highway, between kilometers 156-161, were lifted at 12:00.

The police remind drivers that the speed limit on the bridge is 80 kilometers per hour.

Traffic on the bridge was restricted due to restoration work, which resumed in February after a night break.

Cernavode Bridge, 1,596 m long, is a combined rail-road bridge of a structural type, which, together with a similar bridge over the Borc branch, 970 m long, crosses the Danube River and connects the cities of Feteşti and Cernavode, between the regions of Muntenia and Dobruja.

At the beginning of February 2021, CNAIR signed a contract worth about 67 million lei for the reconstruction of the Chernavoda Bridge. The contract was concluded with the company Maristar Com SRL, the completion period is 24 months, but in order not to disrupt the summer season, the work was carried out in stages and was postponed during the period of intense traffic.

With the same developer, CNAIR also concluded a contract for the reconstruction of another road bridge across the Danube, on the Borch branch.
