Navalny, 46, is serving an 11-and-a-half-year sentence in a maximum-security prison for fraud and contempt of court, which he says are false and designed to silence him. A documentary about him won an Oscar last month.

Prison in the cabbage business

Navalny said he was released from solitary confinement on Friday and sentenced to 15 days on Monday after his supporters launched an investigation that revealed the colony’s administration was paying an inflated price for cabbage.

“That’s why the very next day, after my colleagues started investigating these funny stories with cabbage, I was put in (IZO), they immediately started setting up a “work cell” for me and changed the daily routine from hellish to extremely hellish. “, he wrote on Twitter.

Navalny, who survived an assassination attempt by poisoning in 2020, has been repeatedly placed in solitary confinement over the past year and supporters say his life is in danger due to his deteriorating health.

Lawyer Vadym Kobzev reported that an ambulance was called to the colony on Friday evening after Navalny’s condition worsened due to a stomach ailment. The prisoner lost eight kilograms during his last 15-day imprisonment, he wrote on Twitter.

Navalny, who has released dozens of videos over the years that he claims shows widespread corruption in Russia, also said that prison officials “made up completely illegal rules, forbidding me to buy food, even with the money I won.” .

Last week, Russia said that supporters of Navalny were involved in the killing of military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky in St. Petersburg.
