Publisher Giorgos Bombolas dies

The publisher passed away at the age of 95. George Bobolas.

George Bobolas was born in 1928 in Piraeus, originally from Messinia and Laconia.

He studied civil engineering at the National Technical University of Athens.

He founded the construction company Technodomy with future Minister of Public Works Evangelos Koulubis as a key partner.

Its business activities were concentrated in the construction, energy and media (MME) sectors, with two companies acting as the main carrier:

* Ellactor, created after the merger of Aktor ATE and Hellenic Technodomiki SA in 1999.

* The Pegasos Publishing House, which owned the Mega Channel TV channel (by 25%, until November 2019), the Ethnos and Imerizia newspapers (until 2017), as well as a number of websites and periodicals.

He also owned a stake in the Casino Parnita, as well as a stake in Attiki Odos and the gold mines in Halkidiki.
