The State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, intends to pass a bill that provides for the introduction of electronic summonses for conscripts and a ban on the departure of men who ignore them, independent Russian media Meduza reports, Kyiv writes. Independent.

Conscripts who do not respond to summonses will be required to voluntarily report to the Military Commissariat within two weeks.

As Meduza writes, those who do not comply will face restrictions, including a ban on leaving the country. Over time, they may also be restricted in performing various basic social functions, such as buying real estate, registering a business or taking out a loan.

The Kremlin denied the beginning of the second wave of recruitment for the war against Ukraine.

However, the independent Dutch Russian media outlet The Moscow Times reported on March 15 that military commissars had begun sending out summonses to men in the Lipetsk, Tyumen, Sverdlovsk, Penza, and Voronezh regions, as well as in the Krasnodar region.

Most of the conscripts were supposedly for “clarification of data”, but some were called up for training, including about 100 men from the Tyumen region.
