Interior Ministry announcement in detail
As the ministry said in a statement, “Since 2019, the Ministry of the Environment has been working intensively at the national and international level to prevent the impact of the climate crisis on cultural heritage. It cooperates with research bodies and academic institutions of the country, as well as with international organizations, while preparing projects and actions for the protection of archaeological sites and monuments inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In 2023, All Greece – One Culture will focus on the main issue of climate change for the present and future of the planet and its consequences not only in our lives, but also in the cultural fund, tangible and intangible. In this context, the organization of the institution “All Greece is Culture 2023” has invited artists and art groups to create new works on this topic, with readings that are not limited to reproducing dystopian predictions, but raise questions for a global perspective. phenomena.
After the Minister of Culture and Sports was informed by the President of the Select Committee, Giorgos Kumentakis, of the completion of the selection process and the immediate publication of the results, Lina Mendoni issued the following statement:
“From its inception, in the summer of 2020, at the height of the pandemic, until today, All Greece is One Culture has gained worldwide recognition by offering cultural works of the highest standard that perfectly blend cultural heritage. with contemporary art. The organization of the institution’s events around the central thematic axis began in 2022 with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the catastrophe in Asia Minor. This summer, the theme of the climate crisis and its implications for the future of the planet and our societies continues. For the fourth year in a row, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy quality performances of the highest level in archaeological sites outside the Attica region, creating, at the same time, as every year, the conditions for the employment of a significant number of Cultural workers.
The program of events “All Greece is Culture 2023” is compiled from the proposals of the creators at the open invitation of the Ministry of the Interior and is focused, in accordance with the philosophy of the institution, on innovative and hybrid forms. which are born from the dialectical juxtaposition of more than one art form per event.
