Today, Good Monday, April 10, workers in the country’s municipalities are holding a 24-hour strike demanding the retention of contract workers and an end to the prosecution of elected officials who failed to pursue legal remedies against workers.

More precisely at 10.00 POE-OTA holds a protest rally in front of the Federation office on Karaiskaki Square (Karolou 24-Athens) and a march to the KEDE office. (Academy 65 and Gennady 8-Athens) and the Ministry of the Interior (Vas. Sofias 15-Athens).

Requirements of municipal employees:

Waiver of the obligation to exhaust all remedies related to employee claims.

Permanentization of contract employees who explicitly meet permanent and ongoing needs and work with recurring contracts in local government.

Removal of all disciplinary sanctions against municipal councils and councilors who have decided not to prosecute employees who support the services of municipalities and the interests of the citizens who elected them!!!

Recruitment of permanent staff in all local government services against the policy of obsolescence and privatization.
