Night agent
Spy Thriller (2023)
Creator: Sean Ryan
Performers: Gabriel Basso, Lucian Buchanan
The spy subgenre seems to be back in vogue, at least on the small screen, as evidenced by this recent hit series of his Netflix. The main character is Peter Sutherland, a young FBI agent who witnesses a terrorist attack, and a year later finds himself in the White House on the night shift next to a phone that never rings. But when that changes one night, he and the girl who calls him find themselves embroiled in a deadly plot that reaches the highest levels of government.
The ten-episode series is fast-paced, mixing pure action and suspense with political intrigue and conspiracies behind closed doors. The first stage is of course much more polished, with Gabriel Basso (Country Song) imitating Matt Damon as Jason Bourne quite convincingly.

Sweat ★★★
DRAMA (2020)
Directed by: Magnus von Horn
Cast: Magdalena Kolesnik, Julian Swizewski, Alexandra Konieska
From the Cinobo platform, we choose a touching story with a completely modern heroine. Rookie Magdalena Kolesnik delivers a convincing performance as Sylvia, a famous gymnast and popular social media influencer. Hundreds of thousands of followers daily follow almost every movement of the young lady through videos, photos and all kinds of posts that she keeps them informed. In fact, of course, Sylvia is terribly lonely and longs for recognition and companionship, but does not know how to deserve them.
The first part of Magnus von Horn’s film reveals to us with great precision and courage a heroine that we can also recognize in various real network characters of our time. Then, however, we move on to the darkest escalation of the finale, where a monster of loneliness, vanity and inhumanity appears to haunt the images that pass in front of the camera. With a “dry”, starkly realistic aesthetic and style, Von Horn goes to the other side to show what is not seen in Instagram stories and live videos, and ultimately lead the protagonist through a process of purification similar to that of an ancient tragedy.
