Federico Valverde punched Alex Baen in the face in the car park at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium after Real Madrid’s 3-2 defeat by Villarreal in the 28th round of La Liga.
Federico Valverde brought down Alex Baen in the parking lot
At the end of the game, the Uruguayan Real Madrid midfielder waited for the Villarreal coach to confront Baena and asked him to repeat what he claims was said on the pitch.
Marca reports that Valverde was angered by Baena’s remarks during the Copa del Rey match between the two teams on January 19, and it happened again on Saturday night.
“In a Copa del Rey match 3 months ago, Alex Baena hit Fede and told him: ‘You are crying because your son will not be born.’ Then everything remained without consequences, but at yesterday’s match he said something similar, and the Uruguayan caught fire. Therefore, he waited for him in the parking lot and told him not to involve the family in the football match,” Valverde’s relatives said.
In February, Mina Bonino (Valverde’s partner) revealed on social media that she had complications and thought she would lose the baby, before further tests revealed the pregnancy was actually healthy.
Villarreal and Baena have not confirmed the claim, but the club have spoken to Spanish police about possible action and the player will decide if he wants to press charges.
“Very happy for the impressive victory of the team in a stadium like the Santiago Bernabeu, but at the same time very sad after the abuse I suffered after the game and surprised by what is being said about me. WHAT I SAID IS COMPLETELY FALSE” – Alex Baena on Twitter.
“Fede Valverde, a coward and a coward,” Villarreal’s Cisco Nadal tweeted on Saturday.

Fede Valverde did nothing wrong. Family always comes first. Just stick with his position that Baena deserves all the hate for being a horrible person for abusing his unborn son. uD83DuDE1E pic.twitter.com/T2cEUm93FP
