Customs inspectors from the Independent Tax Administration found and seized 500,000 liters of solvents for adulterating gasoline.

Mobile Audit Teams Patras and Igoumenitsa of the Attica Customs Audit Service and the Economic Police, as directed by the Coordinating Operations Center (COC) aused information from Europol about a suspicious tanker truck carrying solvents to adulterate gasoline..

The scheme sought to illegally import 15 of these barrels into our country along the sea route (Trieste – Patras). and storage of solvents in tanks in Patras and Schimatario Attica to then distribute them to illegal facilities and gas stations throughout the territory.

The AADE inspectors, in cooperation with the Greek police, waited for the illegal cargo at the respective points of entry and destination, and finally proceeded to inspect and detain the tankers at the port of Patras.
