
Three citizens and one foreigner, aged 23, 56, 20 and 31, were arrested in the morning hours of Tuesday (4/4) in the area of Agios Ioannis Rentis by the police of the Piraeus subdivision of security of the Attica Security Directorate for violating the law on flares and fireworks by cooperation.
In the context of the investigation and use of information about the activities of a person illegally selling sparklers through a social network platform in the areas of Piraeus and Western Attica, the above accused were identified and their criminal activities were confirmed.
In particular, policemen posing as buyers contacted the controversial person profile on a social network chat application and asked to purchase the required number of sparklers, arranging a meeting for this near a shopping center in the Ag area. Ioannis Rentis.
The 23-year-old defendant showed up at a prearranged meeting point and was caught with 10 boxes containing a total of 200 sparklers.
The preliminary investigation established the participation of other defendants, and during the searches conducted in their homes, everything was found and confiscated:
- 3209 dynamite
- 900 fuse dynamite
- 64 dynamites
- box of 95 metal capsules
- box of 85 missiles
- 1 rocket launcher – metal caps
- 5 mobile phones
The arrested persons, with proceedings brought against them, were brought before Mr. Plimmeliodiki, the public prosecutor of Piraeus.
