Her cause of death Christine McViewho died at the age of 79 on November 30.
Singer and lyricist for British-American band Fleetwood Mac died of an ischemic stroke, according to a quote from her death certificate.
In the certificate, which is owned by the site The Blast, the stroke is listed as the main cause of death. According to the Mayo Clinic, “Ischemic stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, preventing oxygen and nutrients from reaching the brain tissue.”
The secondary cause of death listed on the certificate was “metastatic malignant tumor of unknown origin”. According to Blast, “the cancer has spread throughout her body, where the primary source or tumor cannot be found.”
In addition, McVie had atrial fibrillation.
In November, her family reported that the singer “died peacefully” but gave no further details. A few months earlier, in June, she told Rolling Stone magazine that her health was out of whack, describing a chronic back problem that made it difficult for her to stand.
“There are no words to describe our sadness at the passing of Christine McVie,” the members of Fleetwood Mac said in a joint statement following her death. “She was unique, special and very talented. The best musician that could ever be in their band, and the best friend that could ever be in their lives. We are so lucky to have shared our lives with her. Individually and together, we loved Christina and are grateful for the wonderful memories we have. We will miss him.”
